Photographs for
the quiet hours
between everything.

“I photograph the people and places you’ll want to remember in thirty years — not the spectacle, but the light on a hand, the pause before a sentence, the way a room holds its afternoon.”

Margot Vale, founder

Selected — 2025 / 2026

The Photographer

I work slowly, on purpose.

Still Hours is a small studio in Asheville, North Carolina, run by one photographer. I work on film and digital, mostly in the long hours of the day when the light softens and everyone stops performing.

My clients come from across the Blue Ridge and from further afield — families, couples, editors, makers. I take on a small number of sessions each season so each one gets my full attention.

If a session feels like a good idea, it probably is.
