Our Services

Design at every scale, from the site plan to the door handle

From initial concept through construction oversight, Sotol Architecture offers comprehensive design services rooted in the desert landscape. Every project receives the same rigor, sensitivity, and attention to place.

Three disciplines carry most of our work. Each has its own page, its own pricing, and its own way of reading a site.

Four services that most often travel alongside a building, and can be engaged on their own.

Interior Design

From $50,000

Interior design at Sotol is inseparable from architecture. We don't decorate spaces, we complete them. Every material, fixture, and furnishing extends the architectural intent into the tactile, lived experience, the warmth of oiled walnut, the coolness of honed concrete, the texture of handwoven textiles.

Material palettes and finishes, custom millwork and cabinetry, layered lighting design, furniture and art curation, and on-site installation, sourced from artisan makers and grounded in Southwest craft.

Landscape Architecture

From $75,000

Outdoor spaces that extend the architecture into the land and blur the line between built form and natural desert. We treat the ground plane as part of the composition, not a border around it.

Native and drought-adapted plantings, water features, courtyards and outdoor rooms, and hardscape detailing integrated with the building from the first sketch.

Sustainable Design

Integrated into project scope

Sustainability isn't an add-on line item, it's woven into every phase of design. We work with the desert climate rather than against it, so the strategies that make a building comfortable are the same ones that make it responsible.

Passive solar orientation and thermal mass, natural ventilation, high-performance envelopes, rainwater harvesting, and LEED documentation when a project pursues certification.

Design Consultation

From $500

A low-commitment entry point to professional architectural guidance, one-on-one with our founding principal to explore your vision, walk your site, and understand what's possible before any larger engagement begins.

If you go on to engage us for a full project, the consultation fee is credited toward your contract. Consider it a deposit on your vision.

“Great architecture doesn’t impose. It reveals what was always waiting to be built.”

Our Process

01

Discovery

Site visits, conversations, and research to understand the land and the client. We study light patterns, soil conditions, views, and circulation, building a deep understanding before a single line is drawn.

Design

Conceptual development through detailed drawings and 3D modeling. We explore multiple directions, refine proportions, and develop material palettes, always in close dialogue with our clients.

02
03

Documentation

Construction documents, material specifications, and permit coordination. Every detail is precisely documented to ensure the design intent is preserved through the building process.

Realization

Construction administration ensuring every detail meets the design intent. We remain actively engaged through completion, reviewing materials, resolving field conditions, and protecting the vision.
