The rest of the yard

Handled in-house

Walls, plantings, shade, and lighting rarely stand alone. They finish the patio or the kitchen, so we build them with the same crew, and drainage, grade, and wiring get planned as one project instead of handed off.

Retaining Walls & Grading

Engineered walls that solve the real problem first (erosion, drainage, an unusable slope), then look like they belong. Natural stone, segmental block, or poured concrete, chosen for the site. Every wall over four feet is designed by a licensed structural engineer, with French drains and engineered backfill built in from day one, not added later when it starts to lean.

Landscape Design & Planting

Planting plans that finish the hardscape instead of sitting beside it. The palette is native and adaptive, curated for the Triangle's clay soils, humid summers, and the occasional ice storm, so it establishes fast and holds up with little fuss. Full-service from soil test through the final mulch ring: we place every plant for sun, drainage, and how the beds will read from the patio.

Pergolas, Pavilions & Shade

The structure that turns an open patio into a room you use. A sun-dappled cedar pergola or a fully roofed pavilion for year-round entertaining, built in western red cedar, powder-coated aluminum, or low-maintenance composite. Proportions are matched to your home's architecture, and every frame is engineered for Carolina wind and snow loads. Fans, lighting, curtains, and screens integrate cleanly.

Landscape Lighting

Low-voltage LED that takes the yard from invisible after sunset to somewhere you want to be. Layered plans do the work: path lights to guide footsteps, uplighting through the oaks, accents on the architecture. Fixtures are commercial-grade brass and copper that patina rather than corrode in Carolina humidity, on direct-burial wiring and transformers built to run for decades. Smart controls and scenes from your phone.
