East Nashville Est. 2019

Our story

The people behind every cut.

Brass Heritage was built on a simple idea: classic barbershop tradition, done with modern craft, in a room where you actually want to spend an hour. Get to know the barbers who make it happen.

The founder

Marcus Cole

Owner & Master Barber

Marcus Cole grew up in Nashville, raised on the sound of clippers buzzing in his uncle’s barbershop on Jefferson Street. By the time he was fifteen, he was sweeping floors, watching, learning, and sneaking in practice cuts on anyone brave enough to sit in his chair.

After graduating from the Tennessee School of Barbering, Marcus trained under some of Nashville’s most respected master barbers, honing his craft in shops across the city. He learned the old-school techniques (straight razor shaves, hot towel wraps, the art of the consultation) and blended them with the modern fades his clients were asking for.

In 2019, he opened Brass Heritage on Gallatin Ave with a simple vision: a shop where classic tradition meets modern grooming, and every man leaves looking sharp and feeling taken care of. Six years later, it has become a cornerstone of East Nashville, and a place where the next generation of barbers is trained to carry the craft forward.

What we stand for

The principles behind every cut.

Craftsmanship

We treat barbering as a craft. Every cut, every shave, every detail is executed with precision and pride, not rushed to turn the chair.

Community

The shop is more than a place to get a haircut. It is a gathering place on Gallatin Ave where neighbors become regulars and regulars become friends.

Quality

From the products on the shelf to the experience in the chair, we never cut corners. The only thing we cut is hair.

Authenticity

We stay true to the roots of barbering while keeping up with what is current. No gimmicks, just real skill and real talk.
