The Founder
Owner & Master Barber
Marcus Cole grew up in Nashville, raised on the sounds of clippers buzzing in his uncle's barbershop on Jefferson Street. By the time he was fifteen, he was sweeping floors, watching, learning — and sneaking in practice cuts on anyone brave enough to sit in his chair.
After graduating from the Tennessee School of Barbering, Marcus trained under some of Nashville's most respected master barbers, spending years honing his craft in shops across the city. He learned the old-school techniques — straight razor shaves, hot towel wraps, the art of the consultation — and blended them with the modern fades and styles his clients were asking for.
In 2019, Marcus opened Brass Heritage Barbershop on Gallatin Ave in East Nashville with a simple vision: build a shop where classic barbershop tradition meets modern grooming excellence. A space where every man who walks through the door leaves looking sharp, feeling confident, and knowing he has been taken care of by someone who genuinely loves the craft.
Six years later, Brass Heritage has become a cornerstone of the East Nashville community — a place where conversations flow as freely as the cuts, and where the next generation of barbers is being trained to carry the tradition forward.

What We Stand For
These are the principles that guide every cut, every conversation, and every decision we make at Brass Heritage.
We treat barbering as an art form. Every cut, every shave, every detail is executed with precision and pride.
Our shop is more than a place to get a haircut — it is a gathering place where neighbors become friends.
From the products we use to the experience we deliver, we never cut corners — only hair.
We stay true to the roots of barbering while embracing what is new. No gimmicks — just real skill and real talk.
