Mike Whitaker
Second-generation Keystone. Runs the crew, handles big commercial sewer work, and makes the coffee at 6 AM.
Ray Whitaker started Keystone out of a used Ford F-250 and a rented shop off Southwest Boulevard. He'd spent twenty years as a journeyman for other people's companies and was tired of watching customers get talked into repairs they didn't need.
The rule was simple: quote it straight, fix it right, and never walk away from a job half-finished. That's still the rule.
His son Mike came on as an apprentice in 2012 and earned his master license in 2019. Ray's grandson Tyler joined the crew last year as a second-year apprentice. Between the three of them plus four full-time journeymen, Keystone now runs six service trucks across the Kansas City metro.
We're licensed in Missouri and Kansas. We answer our own phones. And the first person on your driveway will be a real tradesman who knows your name before they knock.
The quote is the price. If the job changes in the wall, we stop and tell you before we keep going.
We solder clean. We run pipe straight. If we wouldn't leave it in our own basement, we don't leave it in yours.
Emergency calls get a truck rolling within the hour. Scheduled work shows up in the window we gave you.
Every job carries a one-year workmanship warranty. If we got it wrong, we come back and make it right.
